Elizabeth Bunney

Elizabeth Bunney is a third-generation Cree Métis citizen with Polish/Irish ancestry residing in Treaty 6 Territory in amiskwaciwâskahikan, also known as Edmonton. A proud First Nations descendant from The Pas, Manitoba, Elizabeth brings over 20 years of in-house and agency communications experience working in natural resources, engineering, utilities, financial services, and manufacturing. Her most recent experience includes supporting Indigenous Peoples during the 2022 Papal visit, working with First Nations clients on international and national projects, and countless other incredibly impactful projects aimed at elevating Indigenous voices in the media.  

A recent recipient of IABC Gold Quill 2024 - Award of Merit for Lessons in Performative Indigenous Relations - CN Rail’s Indigenous Advisory Council led by Hon. Murray Sinclair and Roberta Jamieson, Elizabeth attended the Bachelor of Communications and Public Relations program at MacEwan University. As Past President of the International Association of Business Communicators (Edmonton), she is passionate about using her skills to help amplify the voices of Indigenous Peoples and engaging advocates for inclusion and belonging.

Ben Borne

Ben is a communications professional on paper, but a relationship builder at heart. Over the years, Ben has nurtured a passion for using strategic communications to create inclusive, generous, and responsible communities. A member of Yellow Quill First Nation in Saskatchewan, Ben is Canada’s first self-identified Indigenous certified Communication Management Professional. In 2020, he was listed on CBC’s Future40 list in the business and entrepreneurship category. In his spare time, Ben enjoys reading, watching Netflix, pretending to be a hardcore gamer, and travelling.

Darian Kovacs

Darian is the Métis founder of Vancouver based PR, digital ads & SEO company Jelly Digital Marketing & PR and digital marketing school, Jelly Academy. He is the host of the podcast Marketing News Canada, Chairs the Digital Marketing Sector Council and is on the board of NPower Canada.  Darian is also a digital advisor with the Federal Government for their Canadian Digital Adoption Plan. His recent book Marketing Mentors featuring interviews with Seth Godin, Guy Kawasaki and marketing leads from LEGO, Lululemon and Starbucks is available now wherever you purchase your books. Darian lives in Fort Langley, BC with his wife and four children and likes to mountain bike, swim, grow dahlias and watercolour and read YA novels in his free time.

Danielle Mager

Danielle Inglangasuk Mager is the daughter of Naudia Lennie, an Inuvialuit and Gwich’in from Aklavik and Dan O’Neill, a settler from Ontario. Danielle is also granddaughter to Sam Lennie, whose mother was Gwich’in and father who has roots to Anaktuvak Pass in Alaska and Margaret Lennie who is Inuvialuit.

Danielle was born and raised in the Northwest Territories and grew up in Cambridge Bay, which is now part of Nunavut. Danielle spent 17 years with the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly in various capacities: Public Affairs and Communications Advisor, Committee Clerk, Manager of Public Affairs and Communications, and Senior Advisor to the Clerk. Danielle now works with Cultural Safety and Anti-Racism with the Department of Health and Social Services as the Senior Project Manager.

Danielle is passionate about her Indigenous culture and she and her husband, Justin, raise their four children to be instilled with Indigenous knowledge and pride.
